ABOUT

Where it all began.  24 December 2017, Notukela was involved in a traumatic motor vehicle accident leaving her hemiplegic. Consequently, she makes use of a wheelchair to mobilise, her right arm has no function, and her speech is impaired. This meant she could no longer lecture, and her business closed down hardly two months during her four months hospital stay.

The Notukela Foundation Institute (NFI) was established in 2019. The organisation is based in Cape Town, South Africa with a national footprint. Our focus is to motivate and inspire the most vulnerable in our community and to give them a voice. The organisation has amazing programmes in coaching, mentoring and storytelling.

Notukela is a designated Public Service Fellow through the Apolitical Academy Southern Africa Leadership Programme. She is a social justice advocate for vulnerable women, youth and people living with disabilities.

“As I was laying there unconscious, I awoke to a world that reawakened my consciousness to fight against injustice, exclusion and inequality.”
- Notukela
